Alannah earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, specializing in psycholinguistic research. She graduated from University at Buffalo with a Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences in 2013 and is registered in good standing by the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
Alannah is a highly motivated clinician, who strives to provide evidence-based, client-centred care. She has extensive clinical experience working with both adults and children across the care continuum, providing assessment and treatment for speech sound disorders, early language, voice and fluency, social/pragmatic disorders, autism, dysphagia, aphasia, and cognitive communication disorders. Alannah also works as an adult acute care SLP in Hamilton, with a focus on dysphagia management, and acts as an adjunct assistant clinical professor for McMaster SLP students in clinical placements.
A life-long learner, Alannah is continually advancing her practice through coursework and self-led education. She is a registered MBSImP clinician, trained in FEES, Supportive Communication for Adults with Aphasia, and is a member of the NeuroAffirm Academy with coursework in affirming autism assessment and intervention.
As someone who identifies as neurodivergent, and who is also a mom to neurodivergent children, Alannah brings unique experience and perspective to her practice. She strives to help children, adults, and families on their journey by providing neurodivergent affirming therapy, supporting communication, and allowing clients to express themselves authentically.
Alannah resides in Stoney Creek with her husband, three children, and beagle Luna. She enjoys cheering on her kids as a hockey mom, reading, cooking, and gardening.
