Couples
We understand that primary relationships can be both our greatest support and our greatest challenge in life. Everyone brings their own history and background to a partnership, and the dynamic created by entwining two lives together is unique to each couple. The relational traps we tend to get stuck in however, are common to everyone, and the good news is, there are tried and true methods of communicating and relating that can help you build health, trust and affection with your partner. We also know the strain that parenting, co-parenting, blending families or managing a child’s disability or exceptionality can add to a primary relationship, and we can help you navigate your journey together with positivity and resilience. Couples therapy is usually a 60 minute appointment in our clinic. Talk to us about how couples therapy can be an important part of a wraparound plan for your family’s health and wellbeing.
Families
We offer family sessions of 60-90 minutes in our clinic to help navigate complex dynamics and facilitate positive, effective communication between parents and children, co-parents, step-parents, siblings and extended family as necessary. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs and are designed to give you practical tools to understand and alleviate the stressful underlying dynamics that may exist inside your family, whatever shape ‘family’ takes for you. Family counselling can be helpful in combination with our other programs in order to help support and understand someone in your household who lives with a learning or behavioural disability, which also affects Siblings and parents when one child’s needs feel like they dominate the family landscape. Reach out to our experienced Case Managers to discuss how family counselling could help you achieve greater health and harmony in your home.
