Summer 2024 Programming Lineup

We’re excited to share our summer programs with your family this season!  Check out the options below.  If you’re not sure where to start, just give us a call at 289 678 0581 or email info@nowwhatsupports.ca and we’ll help you navigate the options.

  • Children and teens are placed in therapeutic programming in collaboration with families and the clinical team in order to ensure that every child will thrive in a program that fits their individual needs and goals
  • Programs are capped at low ratios to ensure each child is set up for success
  • Payment for group programs is required in advance on registration to hold your placement
  • Programs are generally covered by Social Work (MSW) under most benefit plans
    All programs can be covered by OAP Core Funding

SkillBuilders Therapeutic Summer Camp

WHAT:
Social, emotional, and executive function skill building in a fun, supported summer camp environment (largely outdoors, with trips to splash pad, park, library, and trails).
Includes snacks and lunch.

WHEN:
Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm
July 2 – August 30, 2024

WHO:
Kids age 4-12+ who need more scaffolding than non-therapeutic camps can offer to thrive
*PowerUp+ kids are generally eligible to participate in the SkillBuilders Therapeutic Summer Camp

Minimum Commitment:
Flexible enrolment by the half day, registered in advance

RATES:
Starting from $220 – $450/full day depending on support needs as assessed by our therapeutic team

PowerUp Summer Program

WHAT:
Foundational skill building with our specialized behavioural and communication support team. Includes snack and lunch.

WHEN:
Monday – Friday from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
July 2 – August 30

WHO:
Kids aged 4-12+ who need focused support with communication, transitions, activities, or toileting; those who may have a history of elopement or physical dysregulation and require specialized behavioural and therapeutic planning to support safety and success

Minimum Commitment:
2+ days/wk for 4 weeks*

Rates:
$600/day

SkillUp Life Skills for Teens

WHAT:
Life skills and supported social interactions for teens. Includes snacks.

WHEN:
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 1 – 4pm
July 2 – August 29

WHO:
Teens who thrive with low-ratio support learning basic life and social skills

Minimum Commitment:
12 of 18 summer sessions

Rates:
$300-$495*/3hr session depending on support needs as assessed by our therapeutic team (*$495 rate is for 1:1 support throughout the program)

TeenzOwn Social Development Group

WHAT:
Social development & executive function skills for teens via fun recreational activities such as games, community outings, challenges, projects. Includes dinner.

WHEN:
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 4:15 – 7:15pm
July 2 – August 29

WHO:
Teens who want to develop and practice social fluency and executive function skills in a supported recreational environment

Minimum Commitment:
9 of 18 summer sessions

Rates:
$165/3hr session

GirlzOwn

WHAT:
Personal development group for girls covering boundaries, confidence, self-esteem, emotional literacy, self-advocacy, positive self-talk & healthy relationships

WHEN:
Tuesdays from 5:00 – 6:30 pm
July 2 – August 20, 2024

WHO:
Girls aged 8-11 & 12-14

Rate: $1000*
8 weeks* of 90-minute group sessions
1 x parent workshop (held during the child’s group time)

*For summer GirlzOwn only, up to two weeks of this program can be missed without charge if absent dates are provided in advance (total cost $750)

Dungeons & Dragons Weekly Campaign

WHAT:
Supported social negotiation, problem-solving, communication, self-advocacy, executive function skills, turn-taking, and reciprocity via the epic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. Includes pizza dinner.

WHEN:
Kids – Wednesdays from 5 – 6:30 pm
Teens – Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm
July 3 – August 28 (9-week summer campaign)

WHO:
Ages 8 and up who are approaching grade-level cognition and communication and can stay physically and emotionally regulated with support during a group program

Rates: $900

Dungeons & Dragons Summer Camp

WHAT:
Supported social negotiation, problem-solving, communication, self-advocacy, executive function skills, turn-taking, and reciprocity via the epic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons for kids approaching grade level cognition and communication – camp program includes extended gameplay PLUS creative D&D-themed activities! Includes snacks.

WHEN:
Kids: Monday – Friday 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Teens: Monday – Friday from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

3 separate D&D camp weeks are offered throughout the summer:
July 15-19
July 29 – August 2
August 12-16

WHO:
Kids & Teens ages 8+ who are approaching grade-level cognition and communication and can stay physically and emotionally regulated with support during a group program

Rates:
$650 for the full week (half-day camp)

Summer DBT Groups

WHAT:
Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Effective Relationship skills.

WHEN:
Kids Part 1: 6-8 yrs

Kids aged 7-14 approaching grade-level cognition and communication who are ready to tackle concrete social-emotional skills for self-regulation in a fun, interactive group format, with parent support components

Rates:
$1320
Includes 8 x 75-minute sessions for children
Parents attend mini-sessions for the last 15 minutes of their child’s group each week
2 parent workshops (held during the child’s group time)
MAKEUPS AVAILABLE for missed sessions – 30 minutes virtual on Thursday evenings
Pizza supper included

Work It Out Sports Based Group

WHAT:
Sports of all sorts, for minds of all kinds!  DBT-informed social-emotional and self-regulation skills will be woven into a kinetic, active outdoor experience full of movement, fresh air, and fun with a sports-specialized therapeutic leadership team.

WHEN:
Tuesdays from 5:00 – 6:30 pm
8 x 90-minute sessions
July 2 – August 27, 2024 (no program Aug 20)

WHO:
Kids aged 8+ who need to move their bodies while they train their brains!

Rates:
$1000/8 week program

*For summer WorkItOut only, up to two weeks of this program can be missed without charge if absent dates are provided in advance, to allow for vacations (total cost $750)
