Understand How Your Brain Works – Finally
The FAVRES Executive Function Assessment gives adults and teens in the Hamilton area real, clinically-based insight into how they plan, focus, and make decisions in everyday life.
Most extended health plans include SLP coverage. Serving Ancaster & the Greater Hamilton Area.
What is a FAVRES Assessment?
The FAVRES (Functional Assessment of Verbal Reasoning and Executive Strategies) is a clinically validated tool administered by our Speech-Language Pathologist, to help you map out the way you receive and organize information, plan and execute tasks, and more. People who manage ‘ADHD-ish’ challenges can benefit from better understanding their executive function strengths and weaknesses via the FAVRES assessment.
Unlike typical attention tests, it uses real-world tasks – like planning an event, scheduling a workday, and working through a practical problem – to reveal how you actually think when things get complex.
It’s not a diagnosis. It’s a detailed, practical picture of how your brain navigates real situations — and what that means for your day-to-day life.
What Does FAVRES Measure?
- Getting The Facts – Identifying the most important information
- Eliminating Irrelevant Information – Filtering out what doesn’t matter
- Weighing the Facts – Comparing options and priorities
- Flexibility – Revising a plan when new information arrives
- Generating Alternatives – Coming up with a variety of solutions
- Predicting Consequences – Thinking through outcomes and trade-offs
- Providing a Rationale – Explaining the reasoning behind a decision

The NowWhat Difference
We Don’t Stop Where You Struggle
Most assessments are designed to identify where things break down. At NowWhat, we go further.
Our SLP notes your natural stopping point — then keeps going with supports in place to see what actually helps you work through it. That means you leave with more than a score. You leave with concrete information about what conditions, strategies, and accommodations help you do your best thinking.
We also pay attention to the environment: time of day, sensory factors, and the context around how you work best. This information is invaluable for coaching, workplace accommodations, and understanding yourself.

FAQs
Does FAVRES diagnose ADHD?
No. The FAVRES isn’t a diagnostic tool — it doesn’t confirm or rule out ADHD. What it does is give you detailed, functional information about how you manage attention, planning, and decision-making in real-life situations. If you’re looking for a formal diagnosis, we’re happy to help connect you with the right resources.
Is FAVRES covered by my benefits?
Likely yes. If your plan includes Speech-Language Pathology coverage, this assessment falls under it. Most extended health benefit plans do include SLP. We recommend checking your plan details, or reach out to us and we’ll help you sort it out.
How long is the whole process?
The in-person session is 90 minutes. After that, your SLP scores and interprets your results and prepares your written summary or report. We’ll schedule a 30-minute follow-up call once everything is ready. The full timeline depends on the tier you choose.
Who administers the assessment?
The FAVRES is administered by our Registered Speech-Language Pathologist. Results are scored and interpreted by the SLP, who also leads your follow-up call and – in the Comprehensive tier – consults with your EF coach or referring professional.
