Melda Wales (B.A.,B.Ed.(Child Studies),OCT, AVEd, LSLS Specialist, CCW)  has more than 40 years of professional experience working with children and adults as a Specialist Teacher and an Auditory Verbal Educator working with clients and their families who are deaf/hard-of-hearing, incorporating listening and spoken language, in addition to sign language.  Melda continues to work as an occasional teacher for the HWDSB primarily in Special Education settings. Her passion and knowledge have led her to a broad range of experiences working with children with ASD, ADHD, OCD, behavioural, cognitive and mental health challenges, and children with selective mutism. In addition, she has a strong interest in working with English Language Learners (ESL). Melda was born and raised in Ancaster, where she maintains deep roots. In her spare time, Melda enjoys yoga, year-round tennis, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
