Emily Dixon [HBA. Psych, MSW] comes to NowWhat with an honours B.A. in psychology, neuroscience, and behaviour from McMaster and an MSW from Laurier University, as well as almost 10 years of experience in the field of mental health.
Emily worked for 7 years at an outpatient clinic for youth and young adults facing their first episode of psychosis, and is a long-time volunteer in an organization that creates affordable housing communities for individuals in need.
Emily works with children and families from a compassionate, strengths-based, client-centred approach, and strongly believes in providing her clients with the tools to manage their unique situations. Emily utilizes DBT- and CBT-informed care and has her certificate in CBT with a focus on children and youth. Outside of work, Emily enjoys hot tea, yoga, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.
