  • 9 week summer course runs from July 7th to September 1st, 2021

Where Is It Held?

  • Program is based at the NowWhat clinic at 144 Wilson St E, Ancaster, between Halson & Jerseyville

  • We are based both in the backyard garden and in our weather protected outdoor canopies and indoors with physical distancing and full Covid safety procedures in place during restrictions

What Is Involved?

Designed and delivered by experienced social worker (MSW) Helen Brook and  Child & Youth Worker (CYW) Tripp Smith, both members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, this 9-week program will create a safe space for trans youth to explore:

  • Understanding and normalizing their gender journey
  • Coming out safely
  • Self-expression and self-advocacy
  • Managing changing family relationships
  • Navigating intimacy in the skin you’re in
  • Queer language, culture and resources

We will also provide parents and families with a list of trusted resources so that you are able to reiterate the themes we are exploring as a family, use shared language to communicate effectively when discussing gender identity, and feel equipped to continue these conversations at home.

How Much Does It Cost?

  • The full program cost is $675, due on registration (this is a subsized rate – please talk to us if you would like to sponsor another participant by paying full price and covering the cost for a local youth without family support)

  • The financial commitment is for the full 9 weeks (spaces are restricted due to Covid distancing and number capping requirements)

  • Participants are billed for every session regardless of attendance (virtual make-ups provided for sessions missed due to illness or isolation)
