GameOn 2025-2026
What is involved?
Video gaming group for tweens & teens led by gaming enthusiast and experienced social worker Athe using the world of gaming to explore distress tolerance and self-regulation, consider our personal boundaries and values as they apply to our gaming/online presence, and navigate parental perspectives. We’ll look at making value-based decisions around who we game with, how we resolve online conflict, what type of games we engage with, and how much time we spend gaming. How do you curate and maintain positive, supportive online friendships (and explain to your parents that yes, they ARE ‘real’ friends …)? How do you balance school, work, sleep, exercise, and gaming? What do you do if an online friend discloses something worrying and you don’t know how to support them? Come join this non-judgmental, curious, and affirming space, and let’s change the conversation to reflect the many positive aspects of being part of a gaming community.
