Introducing Louise Oke, Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT). “The RMFT credential lets the public and other health professionals know that those that have earned the right to use the credential have an extremely high level of training, education and experience.” (www.camft.ca).
We are thrilled to have Louise’s expertise and experience available at NowWhat to support families and individuals facing particularly complex challenges. Louise is a caring and compassionate listener who sees herself as a work in progress. She is passionate about removing the stigma attached to mental health challenges. Her goal is to uncover what matters most to each client, then help them plot a course to move their lives in their preferred direction. For the past few years Louise has been learning and using Emotion Focused Therapy with her clients, a form of therapy in which “the therapist and clients look at patterns in the relationship and take steps to create a more secure bond and develop more trust to move the relationship in a healthier, more positive direction.” (www.psychologytoday.com)
Relationships – especially family relationships – are always going to be our greatest source of both pleasure and pain in life. That’s just part of being human! But it can help to know that the road you are on has probably been travelled before. There are strategies and approaches you can learn to help you find your way through a difficult time in a relationship. Often the process of problem-solving can lead to a bond that is even stronger for having faced the challenge together.
Our clinical director Milena may recommend that you see Louise if you are looking for help with parenting challenges, navigating life transitions, or if you are living with disorders, anxiety or depression. Louise is also highly proficient at family work, when a calm, neutral facilitator can help untangle difficult dynamics between family members.
Of course, no one wants to be in need of skilled counselling services, but when you do find yourself facing one of life’s ‘Now what?’ moments, the guidance and perspective of an experienced, insightful counsellor like Louise can be absolutely invaluable. If you or a family member could use some backup during this difficult time, reach out for a complementary intake call with our clinical director Milena for compassionate, judgement-free support today.
