Youth DBT is for young people between 11 and 14 (includes 1:1 behaviour coaching and parent coaching via weekly Q&A). Fun, engaging games, role play and skills practice build on the foundations learned in Kids DBT, although participants can enter the program at any level, as the content is directed at developmental age and stage. We introduce understanding our physical responses to emotions and how to interrupt them when required, managing through distress and expanding our window of tolerance, self soothing and self regulation, cognitive skills such as putting thoughts on trial and using STOP, GIVE and FAST skills, and we delve deeper into managing peer relationships and practicing perspective taking and flexible thinking.
12 week group runs from September 14th – November 30th, 2021.
