We offer daytime Therapeutic Life Skills sessions for adults and teens 16+ in our Ancaster clinic between the hours of 9am – 2pm.  Session plans are customized to each person’s abilities, goals and living situation.  We can work towards developing a wide range of hands-on skills such as:

  • Executive function via meal planning, shopping on a budget, basic cooking and kitchen safety
  • Healthy daily routines, personal care, managing through household chores and responsibilities (laundry, basic household sanitation)
  • Interacting with others in public and personal space
  • Understanding money, banking & financial literacy
  • Job preparation & transition skills
  • Self-advocacy in social situations, understanding the differences between friends, family and strangers
  • Navigating social media and online citizenship
  • Optional dating and sexuality programming available (PEERS); Dating do’s and don’ts, accepting rejection, choosing appropriate partners, letting someone know you like them, dealing with pressure from partners and more
  • When community involvement can be safely managed, sessions can involve trips to the library to learn how to use public resources, using public transit, etc

How much does it cost?

  • Initial assessments are $250
  • Individual sessions are $165/session
  • Group session pricing will be customized depending on ratio and support needs
  • OAP funds, Passport Funding and Special Services At Home funding can be put toward this program
  • Sessions are covered under most benefit plans under MSW (Social Work – check that your insurance carrier covers supervised practice)
  • A credit card number is required on file, with paid receipts emailed weekly for you to submit to private insurance

Sessions can be booked in blocks of 6 or more.  We can work with individuals, or curate small groups of up to 3 participants with similar goals.
